Just Because We’re Licensed Everywhere Doesn’t Mean We Should Be

As agents, we’re licensed to sell anywhere in the state.
But that doesn’t mean we should.

For me, it’s about competence — not coverage.

I choose to focus my business within about an hour of home. Why?
Because being a true local expert means more than knowing the zip code.

I want to know: 

  • Which roads are under construction
  • Which neighborhoods are growing
  • Which new coffee shops are opening
  • And which schools or amenities are changing

All of those details affect a client’s decision, and they matter.

What Happens When a Client Moves Outside My Area

Sometimes I meet clients who are moving farther away, and while I may not personally serve that market, it doesn’t mean I stop helping.

In those moments, I lean on my trusted referral network — agents I know personally across the country (and even around the world) who share the same standards, ethics, and heart for service that I do.
